Melania Trump's Digital Currency Architects Facing Pump-and-Dump Scam Lawsuit

The developers behind a cryptocurrency released by First Lady of the United States Melania Trump are now alleged in court filings of executing a market manipulation plot.

Initial Launch and Price Surge

The $MELANIA coins were issued for just a few cents each on January 19th, the day before former President Trump took office.

In addition to the First Lady's token, Donald Trump released his $TRUMP coin a few hours before the inauguration ceremony.

Within hours, the value of the $MELANIA token soared to $13.73 per unit.

Sudden Collapse in Value

However, the value then collapsed with similar speed, and is now approximately a dime – under 1% of its highest value.

In parallel, the $TRUMP token hit a high of nearly forty-six dollars and now trades for approximately five seventy-nine.

Court Claims and Investors' Arguments

The plaintiffs assert that the coin's creators organized the operation conscious that the token's worth would plummet.

Mrs. Trump herself is not included in the lawsuit. The plaintiffs indicated they do not believe she was responsible, but charged the digital currency firms of exploiting her and other well-known personalities as a facade for their illegal activities.

Exchange Platform Role

According to recently submitted court papers, claimants accuse executives of the Meteora cryptocurrency exchange, where $MELANIA was first exchanged, of setting up a operation that allowed them to indirectly purchase significant amounts of the digital token.

Their partners then rapidly offloaded these digital currencies, earning significant gains while leading to the market to collapse, as stated in records entered in federal court in Manhattan.

Broader Context

The claims concerning $MELANIA have been added to judicial actions regarding various other virtual tokens, which began in April.

The Trump organization has reportedly generated more than a billion dollars in pre-tax earnings from multiple cryptocurrency-related ventures and firms over the previous twelve months.
